Achievements | Zhonglun W&D Appointed as Long-Term Legal Counsel of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd.

Recently, Zhonglun W&D Law Firm and China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. formally signed a “Legal Counseling Agreement”, under which the firm was engaged as the Institute’s long-term legal counsel. 

The predecessor of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. is the Academy of Machinery Science and Technology of the former Ministry of Machinery Building Industry, founded in 1956. It is a technology‑oriented group directly under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council, and it controls 18 wholly‑owned (or majority‑owned) subsidiaries. China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group is dedicated to the research, development, and promotion of core manufacturing technologies (basic generic technologies) for the nation’s equipment‑manufacturing sector. It has established 13 national‑level and 28 provincial‑ministerial‑level innovation platforms, including national key laboratories and national engineering research centers; it operates 4 international cooperation bases, participates in 71 international and national standards Association and academic societies; it runs 20 postdoctoral stations and confers master’s and doctoral degrees; and it publishes 21 scientific journals. To date, the Group has made more than 7,000 scientific and technological achievements, which have been widely applied in critical fields of the national economy and defense security, facilitating China’s advancement of industrial construction and modern manufacturing. It is an essential component of the country’s innovation system.

 Dazhong Wei holds a Master of Laws from Renmin University of China and is a senior economist. Since practicing law in 1987, he has served as a Member of the Professional Committee of Environment, Resources and Energy Law of the All China Lawyers Association, Director of the Professional Committee of Constitutional Law of the Beijing Lawyers Association, Member of the Disciplinary Committee, the Member Discipline Review Committee and the Management and Assessment of Applicants for Legal Practice Committee, General Manager of China National Gold Group Co., Ltd.’s Legal Department, and Legal Counsel for the Beijing Olympic Engineering Construction Command in 2008. He has handled notable cases such as the Zhigang Sun death case in Guangzhou and a bribery case involving a CCTV journalist. He specializes in criminal and civil litigation, environmental protection, mineral resources, compliance, and risk management.
