On July 30, Zhonglun W&D Law Firm, in collaboration with Weisin Reinsurance Broker, hosted the “Seminar on Drone Insurance and Automotive Parts Four-in-One Insurance” at its Beijing headquarters in Tower 2 of China Central Place. As part of the series of events commemorating the 30th anniversary of the promulgation of the Insurance Law of the People’s Republic of China, the seminar brought together industry experts from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to explore cutting-edge international insurance practices and discuss pathways for the collaborative development of insurance innovation and legal frameworks.
Attendees included Zhengming Li, Executive Committee Member of Zhonglun W&D Law Firm and Dean of its Insurance Research Institute; Weisin Reinsurance Broker’s Vice Chairmen Muxi Han, Shaofen Xia, Shengye Zeng, Ruixin Liu, and Guifang Zhao; representatives from insurance institutions; and numerous partner lawyers. The hybrid event drew over 2,650 participants online and offline.
In his opening remarks on behalf of the organizers, Zhengming Li highlighted the seminar’s multifaceted significance: first, as a key commemorative event for the 30th anniversary of the Insurance Law; second, as an important exchange platform for cross-strait insurance professionals; third, as a forum for researching and discussing global insurance trends; and finally, as a vital opportunity for industry peers to share insights and learn from one another.
Shaofen Xia of Weisin Reinsurance Broker delved into “Drone Insurance”, comparing and analyzing innovative models and practical approaches in domestic and international markets from perspectives such as market demand, product design, and risk management.

Lawyer Zhengming Li delivered a speech titled “The Vital Role of Insurance Legislation in the Development of China’s Insurance Industry”, reviewing the historical progression of insurance legislation on the mainland, highlighting the significant role of insurance laws and regulations in advancing the industry, analyzing the convergence in insurance legislation and regulation across the Taiwan Strait despite differing paths, and exploring future synergies between mainland insurance legislation and industry development.
During the interactive session, the atmosphere was lively and engaging. Participants from the insurance and legal sectors across the Strait engaged in in-depth discussions on core topics such as insurance innovation and legal compliance. Attendees shared diverse perspectives on innovative directions for insurance services—ranging from expanding drone insurance applications and evolving composite auto parts insurance products to leveraging technology to streamline service processes—sparking numerous creative yet practical ideas. These exchanges fostered collaborative insights to drive innovation and legal risk management in cross-Strait insurance operations.
In closing, Min Li, Executive Committee Director of Zhonglun W&D Law Firm, delivered concluding remarks.
