Joy Yin received her Master of Laws degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and has over ten years of legal practice experience in China. She has long served corporate clients, with a focus on China–U.S. cross-border business matters and commercial dispute resolution.

Joy has extensive experience advising companies at different stages of development, including corporate governance, business decision-making support, commercial dispute negotiations, major litigation, and complex disputes. She approaches legal issues from a business-oriented perspective, helping clients identify risks and implement practical solutions.

For China-based companies that have established and operate businesses in the United States, Joy provides ongoing legal coordination and compliance support across key stages of U.S. operations, including company formation, daily operations, and dispute and risk management. She has a solid working knowledge of U.S. federal law and California law and maintains long-term working relationships with California-based law firms, enabling effective coordination of legal resources between China and the United States. When needed, she works closely with U.S. counsel on local litigation and procedural matters.

Joy is fluent in both Chinese and English, experienced in cross-cultural business environments, and committed to providing efficient, practical, and client-focused legal services.

Joy selected matters and ongoing general counsel engagements include:

  • Represents Da Yu Information Co., Ltd., a Taiwan-listed company, and its Mainland China affiliates in large-scale game copyright enforcement actions, handling nearly 200 copyright infringement cases involving well-known game titles.
  • Represents multiple shipping, marine fuel, and maritime companies in Shanghai and Jiangsu in dozens of maritime and admiralty disputes, including shipbuilding disputes, marine fuel quality claims, ocean cargo transportation contracts, and fuel supply contract disputes.
  • Represents Navotech International Inc., a UK-based company, in contract disputes and related commercial matters in China.
  • Represents Kechuang Holding Group Co., Ltd. and its affiliated companies in both litigation and non-litigation matters, covering corporate operations and investment-related legal issues.
  • Represents Shanghai Wandong Sanye Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. in multiple contract disputes and legacy debt matters, assisting with risk resolution and debt recovery.
  • Represents a Shanghai-based company in connection with the introduction of a Hong Kong investor, including negotiation with the investor and drafting and execution of financing agreements.
  • Represents a Shanghai real estate developer in significant lending disputes, assisting in resolving key legal risks arising from property development and sales.
  • Serves as General Counsel to the Shanghai Office of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government.
  • Serves as General Counsel to Shanghai Yaoke Investment Management Co., Ltd..
