Mr. Lin Xinhua is a partner at Beijing Zhonglun W&D (Tianjin) Law Firm. He currently serves as the director of the 9th Insurance Professional Committee of Tianjin Lawyers Association, arbitrator at multiple arbitration institutions including Tianjin, and Adjunct Lecturer at Tianjin University of Commerce Law School. His practice focuses on dispute resolution (litigation and arbitration), insurance, maritime and commercial affairs, international trade, and foreign-related matters. Several cases he handled have been selected into the leading case databases of the Supreme People's Court and various local courts. Mr. Lin was recognized as a recommended lawyer in both "Insurance" and "Maritime" sectors by The Legal 500, and was also honored as a "Rising Star in the Bohai Rim Region" by ALB China. Represented Korean Air Lines Co., Ltd in an insurance subrogation dispute between Beijing Kangjie Air International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd and Samsung Property & Casualty Insurance (China) Co., Ltd. Tianjin Branch. [Selected for inclusion in the Supreme People's Court's Interpretation on Several Issues Concerning the Application of International Treaties and Practices in Foreign-related Civil and Commercial Cases and recognized as a model case for applying international treaties and practices in foreign-related civil and commercial disputes]
  2. Represented SEI WOO Polymer Technologies Pte. Ltd in an international goods sales contract dispute with Sei Woo (Tianjin) Polymer Products Co., Ltd. [Selected for inclusion in the Supreme People's Court's Interpretation on Several Issues Concerning the Application of International Treaties and Practices in Foreign-related Civil and Commercial Cases and recognized as a model case for applying international treaties and practices in foreign-related civil and commercial disputes]
  3. Represented an insurance company in a marine environmental public interest litigation case involving a procuratorate and shipowners, marking Tianjin’s first marine environmental public interest litigation. [Selected as a model case in the Joint Release of Typical Cases on Procuratorial Public Interest Litigation for Marine Natural Resources and Ecological Environment by the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate]
  4. Represented a transformer export company in a series of logistics contract disputes, securing a favorable ruling through retrial at the Supreme People's Court. [Included in the Supreme People's Court’s Case Database of Adjudication Rules for Maritime Cargo Transport Contract Disputes]
  5. Represented a Chilean trading party in maritime cargo transport contract disputes against Singaporean and Turkish shipowners, achieving a tripartite settlement that recovered significant losses for the client. [Featured as a "precedent-setting case" in the People's Court Daily special report "Reform Tide: Forging Ahead with the Ocean – Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of China’s Maritime Courts" (November 28, 2024)]
  6. Represented a logistics group in a voyage charterparty dispute with a steel pipe company involving Belt and Road Initiative projects, resolving mutual claims and counterclaims totaling tens of millions of CNY. [Selected as a 2018 model case by Tianjin Maritime Court]
  7. Represented a Hong Kong-based bulk carrier company in voyage charterparty disputes, vessel arrests, and recognition/enforcement of foreign arbitration awards in Chinese courts against an overseas mining company. [Selected as a model case by Tianjin Maritime Court]
  8. Represented a BVI company and its legal representative in the recognition and enforcement of a London arbitration award in China, addressing jurisdictional issues over offshore entities and shareholder/director liability. [Recognized as an exemplary case by Tianjin Maritime Court]
  9. Represented a Jiangsu-based trading company in preserving matured creditor’s rights during Hong Kong arbitration proceedings. Successfully secured preservation of a Uruguayan company’s creditor’s rights against a Tianjin entity at a Tianjin court, ensuring enforceability of the future arbitral award. [Marked Tianjin’s first court-ordered preservation of overseas debtor’s creditor’s rights under the Mainland-Hong Kong judicial arrangement]
  10. Routinely advise leading insurers, including CPIC, PICC, CCIC, and Ping An, on domestic/international cargo transport, logistics insurance matters, and subrogation recovery cases.
