Basic Overview

Maritime law is one of our firm’s core practice areas, where we have built long-standing,  in-depth expertise and earned a distinguished reputation that positions us at the industry’s forefront. To further enhance our strengths in this field, the firm has established the Professional Committee of Maritime Law, which focuses on legal services for maritime affairs, commercial shipping and international logistics. The committee brings together a seasoned team of lawyers who are well-versed in the legal practices of maritime and international trade law, boasting extensive hands-on experience across diverse areas covering the carriage of goods by sea, charter parties, ship transactions and financing, marine casualties, marine insurance and maritime dispute resolution. Moreover,  many of our committee members have been recognized by leading rating agencies such as Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, ALB (Asian Legal Business), China Business Law Journal and Lexpress.

Composed primarily of professionals holding master’s degrees or higher from prestigious maritime institutions at home and abroad, members of the Professional Committee of Maritime Law boast rich and diverse backgrounds: many have furthered their studies overseas, while some bring hands-on experience as seafarers, or within the shipping and insurance industries. This multidisciplinary expertise equips them to offer tailored services that seamlessly integrate legal acumen with practical industry insights. Additionally, the team is proficient in English, French, Japanese and other languages, enabling them to deliver internationalized, professional and highly efficient legal services to clients worldwide.

Our firm’s Professional Committee of Maritime Law serves a distinguished global clientele, including leading P&I Clubs, renowned domestic and international shipping companies, freight forwarders, non‑vessel operating common carriers (NVOCCs), insurers, shipyards, ports, and related logistics enterprises. We have also established long‑term, stable partnerships with a wide range of shipping and insurance institutions around the world.

Our firm has established strong collaborative ties with maritime law firms worldwide, and maintains an associated firm in London. As a global hub for shipping and maritime dispute resolution, London attracts a substantial number of maritime arbitration and litigation cases  across the globe each year. Leveraging the platform strengths of our London Office, we are consistently deepening cooperation and exchanges with local clients, arbitration institutions, and maritime law firms, which in turn allows us to further enhance our service capabilities in the international maritime sector, and deliver more comprehensive, forward-looking, and globally-oriented legal services to our clients.
